ZAWGYI INLE LAKE VILLA
Taunggyi, Myanmar | 2017
An important family villa: Zawgyi Inle Lake Villa dominates the center of the estate between the waters of the lake inle, with a bold design but respectful of the size and harmonies of the surrounding landscape.
A symmetrical trim on which the guest houses, service environments, relaxation areas, swimming pools and places of retreat and contemplation arise. The individual elements like pawns of an ordered, but light and fluctuating chessboard on the lake, coupled and yet autonomous, as if they were a small village.
In the center, the manor house with its top and bottom height forms the keystone on which the whole design is built. Dominating the surrounding deck, it is the epicenter of all the visuals and all the compositional elements of the villa.
Wood, bamboo, sloping roofs: references to the homes of Lake Inle are so obvious as they are masterfully embellished and reworked to give the tradition a look of remarkable modernity.
Decorations, motifs carved in wood and gold: the elegance of Burmese temples is reproduced on the roofs and pinnacles of the villa's buildings, creating an exceptional game of reflexes with the lake's waters.
A villa that maintains the decor of the houses typical of the tradition, but which demonstrates without masking the luxury and the quality that matches the importance of its role.
